I’ve worried for family and friends, worried for my biz, worried for all of you! I’ve been let down by cancellations, experiences and in some cases other people. I’ve felt over stretched and unable to step back because so much rides on my shoulders. Argh! Woe is me! (Cue massive pity party and half a bowl of melted chocolate haha) . After a second or two, my real self pops up. My positive self. Yes, 2020 has been more challenging than years before it but I’m choosing to take the BEST of it into 2021 with me. . Human connection. In a year when we’ve been so far from each other, I’ve never felt so close. Work colleagues have become like family (M, L & C I’m looking at you!), girl friends have become like sisters and friends from long ago have come back into my life in wonderful ways. . Focussed time. What a blessing to spend so much extra time with Liam and the girls. Definitely been a few ‘omg I want a solo holiday’ but overall it’s been so good. Darcy is such a deep thinker with so much to talk about and Pearl has boundless love and energy to give. . Roots. I’ll be the first to admit I hate walks but eff me I’ve been on a lot. The nice thing is I know my local area SO well know and feel like after four years of living here I’m really growing deep roots. I know my neighbours, I could give you some good village pub gossip, I know which roads have the best blossom trees for insta haha. What a win! . Gratitude. I think this is the biggest one. I have never felt such gratitude for so many things. The brave people in the NHS, the key workers that carried on, the kind people who put rainbows and teddies in their windows to make children smile, the support groups people set up and the extra mile so, so many people have gone to to help someone in need. Incredible. Like nearly makes me cry to think about it. Wow. . Thank you to every single one of you who has been a Good Egg this year.
