We had our ups and downs but in hindsight I now understand how sick she was and the struggle she was enduring with her health. She died way too young at 41, but one thing she always said that has stuck with me through the years is, “Lane don’t be content with the cards you were dealt.” In essence learn to take a bad hand and turn it into something great...educate yourself, work hard and pursue your dreams with passion.
