MF DOOM and I toured together on my Beautiful Struggle tour. I learned so much from this man. He saw the future. He understood his worth. I once asked him why he sometimes sent imposters in his place... his response was "I'm the villain, remember? They pay to see the mask."
I was blessed to do 3 songs with DOOM but I wish we could've done more. DOOM gave us the music and never let the industry take advantage of him again the way Elektra did when they dropped KMD for being anti "sambo." KMD was part of the God Squad of Busta Rhymes and Brand Nubian. As Zevlove X, DOOM changed what I thought an MC could look like. He did it again when he linked up with Bobbito and delivered Operation Doomsday. What an era. What a time it was to be alive. I will miss this man dearly. RIP Sub Roc. RIP MF DOOM. Prayers for the Dumile family.
