However all good things must come to an end tragedy struck, my mother passed away. I had given up on just about everything except photography, although even that couldn’t bring me solace. Desperately trying to escape the pain I deployed. Being in the Army Reserve this was the perfect opportunity to help me try to piece things back together, away from the distractions of normal life. Overseas I was given an outstanding opportunity; I didn’t deploy in my specialized field, I deployed as an “Army Photographer”. An impressive feat in that I have no formal training and was selected over professional Army photographers for missions.
