リンジー・クラフトさんのインスタグラム動画 - (リンジー・クラフトInstagram)「#MyTapestryStory @carole_king the first book of sheet music i ever purchased at colony in nyc. also- the first song i ever sang live in front of people with an actual piano player was the title song of this epic album, tapestry. that song is magic. and i was so in love with @carole_king . once, i waited at the stage door when she was in blood brothers on broadway. she let me give her a hug that i can still remember how it felt! so.. the performance was just the culmination of a voice class with @marysetrakian ❤️ cut to many years later when i auditioned for the amazing tv program southland shout out to the loveliest humans @iamreginaking who remembered me when i bumped into her years later and she said of course i remember you. you played and sang. ok back to audition- after i sang will you still love me tomorrow i was asked if i played an instrument, i choked and said sure! i didn’t. i got the role and had 5 guitar lessons in 5 days. i was decent at best! . i then asked if i could sing “so far away” i had balls then. apparently, carol or carols people approved of my version. listen- at the time of this experience i was NOT a singer songwriter. actually i felt guilty at how i was so lucky to book this role and that i was an imposter. i kept reminding myself that i was an actor... AND now another many years later. i can trepidatiously say that...i am. in fact. an actual person who writes and composes songs. and it turns out i’m a piano player! thank you @carole_king for being a secret angel that inspired me so much. ❤️❤️❤️also! @mrbenmckenzie thank you for letting me sing to you!!! okay- also, just a bit of info. this story is loaded and im leaving out so many details. but my agent had just dropped me a week before this audition. so perseverance. right @marjorie_ballentine_studio ? right @ninamurano and also- signs and tests are appear all the damn time. you just gotta try and see em if you can! so it’s the 50th anniversary for #tapestry and that’s my story. xoxox」1月5日 13時16分
