Photo by @ジョン・スタンメイヤー / National Geographic explorer and writer Paul Salopek rides a small boat across a body of water, the most direct path between Purnia and Lalganj, while walking through Bihar State in India. At this point in the @outofedenwalk, Paul had journeyed by foot, beginning in 2013 from Herto Buri, Ethiopia, more than 10,460 kilometers (6,500 miles) and over 2,200 days of walking. The photo is from my latest story in @ナショナルジオグラフィック's August 2020 issue, "Water Everywhere, and Nowhere," now on newsstands worldwide. @outofedenwalk #walkingindia #edenwalk #india #bihar #boat
