Introducing The Records, a series where we look at past projects, collaborations, and noteworthy pieces that have shaped the wings+horns trajectory. This week we reflect on our FW15 collaboration with Amsterdam-based textile studio, ByBorre. In 2015, we partnered with visionary textile developer Borre Akkersdijk to re-interpret our signature 'Tiger Spruce' camouflage pattern for a set of limited edition bomber jackets. To accompany the collection, we also collaborated on a futuristic custom-knit space suit, as the centerpiece to our showroom exhibitions in New York and Paris. Part textile laboratory, part atelier, ByBorre's approach to design pushes the relationship between material and machine — utilizing high quality industrial yarns with their signature 3D-knitting techniques. The space suit showcased the innovative fabric technology of ByBorre along with the skilled craftsmanship of our in-house design team. Various panels were intricately cut and sewn together to create one coherent piece. At its final stage, the space suit featured multiple components including a removable astronaut-inspired hood, as well as leather-trim gloves and moccasins finished by local craftsman, Ken Diamond. #wingsandhorns #therecords」1月10日 2時22分
