The sink, bin and casing for the pump and touch-free sensor are created by local ceramists, though Marcus-Bello hopes to partner with a local recyclable plastic firm on future iterations. The design further incorporates caster wheels and standard-issue water kegs.⁠ ⁠ With a battery-powered pump that can run for 48 hours on a two-hour charge, the station can be pushed from ward to ward, offering an effective solution to a public health problem.
