30 things I’ve learned before I reached 30...

8. Deal with your issues

In my humble opinion, therapy should be made compulsory. Everyone has issues or childhood trauma - the worst thing you can do is ignore it and let it seep into your adult life. Therapy is one of the best things you can do when it comes to self-investment.

9. You can never be over-educated

Don’t just get all your information from one source. Read a variety of newspapers, books and listen to radio/podcast debates. I’m a sucker for a random fact. I make it my mission to learn something new every day. It just helps to keep the brain juices flowing.

10. Have three recipes up your sleeve

If you know me, you know my cooking speciality is spaghetti Bolognese. But I also love to cook a roast, stir fry, soups and yummy salads 🤤

11. Validate yourself

I spent most of my 20’s looking for someone to “fix” and validate me. But guess what, only you can do that. Know your self-worth and learn to enjoy your own company because if you can’t no one else will.

12. If you want to keep happiness you have to share it

In the words of Jimmy Durante, “it’s so important to make me someone happy...make just one someone happy and you will be happy too”

13. They always come back...

Getting dumped or being ghosted sucks. But in my experience, heartbreakers and exes will always regret their decision and come back. As tempting as it is DO NOT take them back! It didn’t work out the first time so keep it moving!!!!

14. Before you fall in love/count them as a friend....maybe take your time and get to know them first

It’s easy for someone to be charming and lovely but it takes a real person to be there for you when the going gets tough. Does this person stand by you when you’re not very loveable? Or do they walk away the moment they realise you’re a little bit nuts? Take your time and observe their actions.

15. Always have something to look forward to

I always plan for the future. Whenever I feel a bit lost I write a list of 5 things I want to achieve or do. As a result, having something to look forward to makes me happy.

16. Wear sunscreen

Look after your skin peeps!
