It was this tragedy that brought us together and would eventually lead to the formation of Lidè. We stand together 11 years later with a 14-village program, a student body of more than 1500, and a staff of 80 incredible teachers and change makers. On January 12, 2021, we find ourselves humbled by how together we are drawn to unite in our diversity and our work for a better world. As it was for the rest of the human family, 2020 was a year of shocking loss for Lidè. Recently, we lost our beloved Co-Founder and Executive Director Dr. Kathryn Adams, whose leadership was a bright flame that has lit the candle of knowledge in many other people, and whose radiant vision will always illumine our path as we move forward . And as you can see in this carousel of photos, we had to get creative to respond to the reality of our communities amidst the climate of a life-threatening virus and political upheaval. Through it all, we have offered new and innovative ways to serve our vulnerable participants' psychosocial and educational needs. And we pledge to continue this mission throughout 2021 and beyond.
