プラバルグルンさんのインスタグラム写真 - (プラバルグルンInstagram)「“To be girlish is to be powerful because power is redefined.” - @robingivhan ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For the longest time, people have asked me who the PG girl/woman is? I have been questioned if the girl who loves all this colours, exuberance, style and the big F word FASHION, can really care about the world and what’s going on in it? Does your activism and your voice for equality, fairness, and justice match the women you dress? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And I have emphatically said YES, YES AND YES. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Style with substance and femininity with a bite is how I have described my women from day one. Thinking man's sex symbol, I said, in my first collection. Eyes rolled and eyebrows raised, but I firmly believed in this idea. To me, it was just not an idea, but my reality. Ever since I was a kid, I have been surrounded by strong, powerful women who love fashion, art, creativity, style and are equally passionate about issues that surround us - political, environmental, social, cultural etc. I know these women. I have spent time with these women, and I continue to do so. I love them. They inspire me, and above all; I learn new things every day from them. In short, I am better because of them. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So, I think it is about time we stopped putting women (or anyone) in boxes; categorizing them in ways that make us feel comfortable or superior. What I have seen and what I know for sure is this: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Women in their full feminine glory, however they define it for themselves, is most unnerving to the patriarchy. And we all know patriarchy is at the root of almost all issues surrounding this planet. This is why dismantling patriarchy has been my life long mission. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Thank you, Robin, for this piece. It’s beautiful, and it’s essential. It deeply resonated. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Image from my inspiration board xPG」1月16日 9時08分 - prabalgurung
