✨ 2020 running appreciation post!👇🏼 Bit late but I wanted to share 🙂

I’ve never been good at long-distance running and always struggled running over 3 miles in one continuous session. But in 2020 I changed that by logging over 350 city miles (300 of which happened in 6 months)! Here’s some things that helped me finally enjoy the beautiful hell that is long-distance running.

• Getting obsessed with @strava and trying to flex on @_max_hughes__
• Getting pushed by @todd_lewin to join him on long-distance neighborhood runs
• Having insane runner friends who inspire me (@ellasmithtri, @zachacole, @startfinish)
• Buying a Garmin watch and nerding out over heart rate and pace in real time
• Learning to run long-distances by myself and making it a weekly habit
• Running the entire length of Manhattan, which was always a bucket list thing of mine (13.1mi. from top to bottom)
• Feeling comfortable to push other friends to join me (@smalletics)!
• Learning to properly recover and hydrate leading up to big runs
• More inspo from friends! @kar_inthegarage and @lukesbeard
• 1500 calorie post-workout meals (usually frozen pizzas 😋)
• Spotify playlists, decent running gear, and beautiful NYC

Lots of gratitude and appreciation for how running can impact the body, mind, and spirit. It’s changed my body for the better, and while I write this post, I ironically haven’t yet run in 2021. Gonna make sure I change that soon tho 😇
