How we experience politics is shaped by the media we consume, today more than ever.
The decades of presidential campaign ads collected and presented by artists #Muntadas and #MarshallReese from 1952 and continually updated to this day reveal the evolution of the TV language used to influence and even create political power.
Watch their project, "Political Advertisement X: 1952–2020," on #MoMAMagazine as part of a trio of screenings exploring the impact of video on politics in our inauguration moment. Also included: Artur Zmijewski’s “Democracies” (2009), considering the performance of politics in public space; and Bani Abidi’s “RESERVED” (2006), a sharp study of official ceremony.
Stream for FREE through January 31 at the link in our bio.
