Usually we are watching something animated with Lennox but there is a film from @gravitasventures and @uniallaccess called @ourfriendmovie starring Jason Segel, Casey Affleck and Dakota Johnson that I’ve been waiting to see, so hubby and I curled up to watch this beautiful and poignant film. A story of love and loss and family coming together is exactly what my heart needed. I don’t want to give too much away, but this is a story of a young wife and mother of 2 who is diagnosed with terminal cancer. “Our Friend” is based on Jason Segal's character stepping up when this family needed it the most. Such a touching and powerful story... I’m still emotional about it. Cancer is a beast. I am all too familiar with the magnitude of this disease. My mom had basal cell cancer when I was 9 years old and my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer when I turned 29. Twenty years between the two diagnoses yet my fears were exactly the same. I feel so blessed to say that my parents are cancer survivors. I know that is not the case with everyone and definitely not the norm. At times like these it’s so important to have friends and family by your side. Thank you to all of you who have been so supportive and loving over the years. You know who you are.🙏🏻♥️ I’m not sure how Lennox first heard about cancer, but my sweet son says he wants to be a scientist some day and he hopes to cure cancer.
