Foxy & Cups, Pomeranians (15 & 8 y/o), @bushwickbark, Brooklyn, NY • “I managed restaurants for years and one day I got laid off. To fill my time, I started volunteering at an animal shelter and found myself there every single day. I ended up getting a job at a local pet store, and I thought to myself, ‘I can do this on my own and I can do it better’. I just wanted to be around animals all the time. We opened our first store in 2013 and it was incredible. Going from restaurants to animals was the best thing ever – I was like, ‘Wow, people don’t actually suck.’ The moment I opened the first store I started cat adoptions, and I opened the second store because I needed more room to do dog adoptions. We do a ton of events every year for animal rescue, and that is absolutely what I want to be known for. Everything is changing throughout COVID – we had to close for an entire month, we can’t operate at full capacity, and we got broken into the other day. The good news is everyone is adopting right now, so I have a lot of new customers.” #AllInNYC #NYCStrong
