Dr. Jill Biden has been an educator for more than three decades, earning two master's degrees in reading and English, and, in 2007, a doctorate in educational leadership. During the time she served as Second Lady, she also taught English at Northern Virginia Community College from 2009-2017. And now, she is making history as the FIRST First Lady to work full-time outside of the White House as she plans to continue her teaching career. Jill says, "I think it's incredibly important for a woman to have her own identity, especially when you're married to a politician and now to the president. The idea that you would have to give up your entire life for your spouse seems very antiquated." Teachers are heroes and we need them now more than ever.
