#NR JACKSONLAND by NPR’s @steve_inskeep, a comprehensive saga of “President Andrew Jackson, Cherokee Chief John Ross, and the great American land grab.” John Ross was a Scots-Cherokee and is my namesake (we’re Scottish and my late father was a sort of amateur Native Historian) but I know precious little about the man. Inskeep’s book is dense but accessible, and I really don’t think Jackson should be on our money. #history #nativeamerican #indigenous
