[1/4] Yesterday, in a series of tweets, @jackiespeier made it clear that she’s sick of “going high” with her colleagues that aided & abetted the domestic terror attack on our Capitol on January 6th. Now, if you don’t spend much time paying attention to state officials in CA, or hadn’t seen the other tweets referring to HER COLLEAGUES, I get why this might’ve read like a sweeping judgment beyond the hallowed halls. But if you read Rep Speier’s profile, it’ll be obvious (as it felt to me) that she’s referring to said colleagues. The Sedition Caucus. The ones acting like US gov’t rules don’t apply to them, like they’re too good to listen to Capitol police officers, and bringing guns to the floor. She made an excellent point just before this, tweeting, “Isn’t it interesting that Donald Trump’s attorneys have abandoned him because they refuse to promote his election fraud defense but Republicans in Congress still promote the canard?” Her colleagues consistently shout that elected Democrats calling for healthcare access and pandemic aid relief in the wealthiest nations on earth are “radicals!!” The same colleagues who gave $2 trillion in tax cuts to billionaires. Rich, right?? But they say it. So much so that it’s made it into the media lexicon. It’s a misuse of terminology, but the way it’s been used to incite violence is very real. Rep Speier’s observation that she & her colleagues should simply do the same, and offer a label that might seem extreme to her GOP adversaries in the Capitol? Well the thing is, the folks she’s been calling out ARE terrorist sympathizers. Like @mtgreenee who literally denies the 9/11 terrorist attack, saying “it’s odd there’s never any evidence for a plane in the pentagon.” The GOP champions her! But 59 people died aboard AA Flight 77 when it hit the Pentagon on 9/11/01. 125 people died at the Pentagon. Most were from our Armed Forces. Ted Lieu tweeted that, “Based on the silence from the vast majority of GOP House Members who refuse to condemn Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, it’s clear she is now the face of the House Republican Caucus.” Not one elected GOP member took him up on his offer to denounce her behavior on Twitter. Not one. [CONT]
