I remember he picked me up & told the whole crowd, "this little girl right here could be on our Olympic team in the future." This was right after I watched the Olympics for the first time and decided I was going to be an Olympian one day, so those words were extremely powerful to me! I had no fear of failure & no sense of how hard it would be... 🙃 • BUT I'm a gal that always keeps my word, so I fought through all the doubt, injuries, trolls, fears, etc. & made the Olympic team. Words can't describe the experience... dramatic highs & lows, but nonetheless SO thankful for the experience & friendships. I still can't believe I was only 16. I felt very mature & old, but looking back, I was a teenager that cared about what other people thought, high school drama, & boys! 😂 ... on top of training for the Olympic Games. WILD. • We won a silver medal, but it wasn't the experience I personally wanted to have. I came home & struggled with post-Olympic depression. You're on such a high & it's just all over. That's hard for anyone, but also for a 16 year old girl taking a math test during the week & going on tour on the weekend. 😅 Thank God for my friends & family & @uclagymnastics to give me something to look forward to. • I had the BEST experience doing college gym. I admittedly had a hard time buying into the "fun" atmosphere & culture, but when I did, WOW! It was amazing & worth all of the hard times for sure! • In college, I thought I had a love/hate relationship with gymnastics, but when I graduated & started @beamqueenbootcamp I realized I just loved it. I really love helping girls feel confident & now I see all the life lessons I was able to learn & be able to pass those on to the next generation! Sorry for the long post, but if you did gymnastics, you get it. It's definitely not for the weak! Gymnastics is able to teach tough girls to be strong women & hopefully future leaders! 💪🏼 #NGWSD」2月5日 0時51分 - samanthapeszek
