メリッサ・ビショップさんのインスタグラム写真 - (メリッサ・ビショップInstagram)「I did what I didn’t think we’d do... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I picked up my family, rearranged schedules, and we moved across the country for a couple months so that I can prepare for the upcoming Olympics. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The pandemic, the only thing that seems to making headlines, was at the forefront of this big decision. Safety of ourselves but also those around us while flying across the country and settling into a new spot was priority. Please know, this was not something we acted hastily on. We thought and planned for months. We all quarantined and had COVID tests upon arriving in our new home. We took necessary precautions and we did it safely. Before 2021 arrived, our plans were in place and we were set to go. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Now, here we are a month in. My coach, Trent, lives here. I have eyes on my training 24/7 (something I haven’t had since a few years before Dennis passed late this fall). I didn’t realize what I was missing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Life got so busy with training, schedules, daycare, shift work and the pandemic. We, like so many, we’re just surviving. Either of our jobs were taking a hit somewhere. I couldn’t get to certain workouts or recovery sessions with Osi working and no daycare. Osi having to take a few hours or a day so that I can get my job done. It was a shared challenge for both of us. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Myself and Osi are committed to the dream though. Olympic medals are on our mind. So, we did what we needed to do to achieve that. Not all will agree it was a right choice, but it was a right choice for our family. I feel like I’m at training camp again, no housework, no extra things to do.
