I’m going to be transparent with you guys, after never having had an injury in 20yrs of training, I recently felt something go ping the other day. I think I may have narrowed it down to potentially being a sports hernia, brought on (in my non medical opinion 🤔) from training lower abs too frequently and slacking on stretching them out just as frequently. I’ve always suffered abs cramps/spasms over the years, which is why I try to train them infrequently.
How this has affected my training?
It has meant I have not been training abs or barbell squatting for the last two weeks. I refuse to lose any progress with my legs, so I have been relentlessly performing 1000 sets of leg extensions 😅 This week I was also able to goblet squat without pain so we will see how that develops. I am truly missing barbell squatting as it is my favourite, but I want to give adequate time for this injury to recover.
