I’m typically found doing paid client work, and mostly weddings, so when given the chance to create a shoot from scratch I jumped on it. The @savageuniversal red background was selected by matching the lipstick color with a datacolor @colorreader. I used an older beach hat I had for some extra drama and made sure to grid the strobe to hit her eye and face just right without spreading light everywhere. I made the decision to use the Canon EOS R5 for this shoot because I knew the eye auto focus would perfectly hit focus even with the distraction of the hat in front of the eye.
