From being told “You’re not black enough” from our own community while hearing the same words from those who would never know the experience of a black man was disheartening in so many ways. Many people don’t know we were homeless times 3 at some points in life, yet a strong black woman with nothing but a dream to give her kids the life she didn’t have raised three children to know that nothing in life would stop us from achieving our goals, but ourselves. We live black history month 12 months a year because it’s imperative that we leave a blueprint and legacy for future young kings and queens to know their contribution to this world is worth something like the many African American scholars, engineers, doctors, inventors, philanthropist, entertainers and dreamers abound. Our history was stolen from us. Many black men and women walk around with last names that’s not their own. Think about it and we’ll have a discussion if you don’t know what I mean. We took on names of a history that’s not ours while being rejected and abused by the same people that extended their surname in a claim of ownership. My ancestors broke chains and defied all odds so that I can sit on Instagram and tell them thank you for fighting for my right to use my hands and mind freely. Yes, my brother and I have been in the kitchen cooking! Can’t wait to serve up that five course meal!!! Happy Black History Year and many more!!#blackhistoryyear. 📸 @joshuashultz」2月12日 1時49分 - chaoticsymphony
