I lost a lot of shooting games in practice my whole career but I kept coming back for more. I knew I wasn’t as good as I needed to be so I had to work my butt off everyday if I wanted to win a drill in practice. Everyday I was in the gym I worked on my lift. My shot had to be consistent at release so my height off the ground had to be the same. That was my struggle everyday, to jump the same height everyday. Just imagine coming into gyms out of the cold in the winter and getting my body pumping so I can get off the floor. I would not shoot a set shot (not jump) when no one was on me, I was on a mission to shoot the same exact shot every time. CONSISTENCY, that was my mission every practice, every game! Now as I walk into gyms or watch games on TV, that is what Is missing with many players, young and old, the attention to detail with every shot. If you put the work in every day, every practice, you too will one day see your name amongst the greatest to ever perform in whatever game you play.
