I wrote this song for my little sister, a trauma survivor, who's my biggest inspiration in life. I thought about my ancestral lineage and all the women survivors of sexual trauma that I know about and the ones that I never met who suffered as well. Like a "bird on horseback" our ancestors help to carry us through the darkness when we are "losing home" in our bodies that have been violated. This is the first song @brotherskoren and I recorded. It's also the song where, for the first time, I really discovered my most authentic vocal sound. It was the most emotional song for me to get through in the recording process.
