So in 2018, we opened Boris & Horton, a dog friendly coffee shop. It’s our third anniversary. We worked with the department of health to have two different sides – a cafe side and a dog side. It’s become a whole community – people come with dogs or just by themselves to meet new friends. People with dogs are just nicer – dogs are such a catalyst for conversation. We do trivia nights, bingo nights, and tons of adoption events. We’ve helped 409 dogs get rescued so far (we have an ongoing tally). The pandemic hit, but folks still wanted to be part of the community. We’re closed inside, but our to-go window is open and we’re able to open on Valentine’s Day at 25% capacity. We like to think we’re the happiest place in New York, if not the world.
