After photographing for 16 hours, creating my Day to Night image of President Biden’s Inauguration, I came down from my crane, and saw a group of National Guardsmen were gathered in front of the flags. They kindly asked if I’d take a picture of them. I was happy to oblige, but realized this was such a special moment, I wanted to do a bigger picture. I asked if they would be willing to pose for a group portrait. I climbed back into my crane, and captured this extraordinary moment. These young American men within the field of flags, all of them give so much of themselves to protect us. The 124th Cavalry were just a few of the 25,000 National Guardsman who had our backs during our entire 16 hour shoot. Thank you to all of these men and women for your service to our nation.
