Black History Month is most important because I am raising a Black child. I feel it is part of my responsibility as a parent to give my child as many tools to life. One of them is to understand self. To understand who we are, we must first know where we came from. Black people carry a lot of pain from our lineage, and through a lot of that pain, we excel tremendously into greatness.
