Who is pepper sprayed and told, “You’re fixin’ to ride the lightning, son.” When a traffic stop of a 20-year old man becomes a fatal shooting. There is a serious sickness & we have to be accountable as a society. The concern and anguish is very deep and very real for our sisters & brothers who are constantly inundated w/ incidents like this, resulting in overwhelming sadness, anxiety, anger as a result of injustice. How can anyone possibly grieve or heal when there are so many, so frequently, for so long? The despair & decline of mental health is deeply worrisome. But my heart is sickeningly heavy & I feel deeply that it is important to share / communicate — because we mustn’t become desensitized to the killing of a 13. Year. Old. Child. The affect this has on society is devastating and the fact that many other children feel frightened, hated and despondent is not only tragic, but will undoubtedly have a disturbing affect on young minds.
