There’s a distinctive spirit that inhabits vintage designs. An invaluable patina of living over a span of time and now within a new context of era, of place. I love infusing vintage into all of my environments. Giving historical pieces a new lens adds an incomparable layer of depth, tension and interest into a space. My curatorial process always includes visits to flea markets and vintage shows around the world. The sense of discovery and allure of the hunt for unique, historic treasures is incredibly compelling.

in Texas is one of my favorite spots for one-of-a-kind, soulful vintage designs. It is a weeklong, full-sensory exploration of materiality, scale and texture through a profound cross-section of art and design periods. Oftentimes I will buy pieces that speak to me even if they are not the right fit for a certain project I am shopping for at that particular moment, as instinct and serendipity eventually guide the anomalous object to its perfect place. A touch of extraordinary makes design more meaningful. XK
