One of mine has been to enjoy what I do (and part of why I have been able to compete through 4 Olympic cycles). As most athletes working towards an Olympic Games, I was disappointed not to be selected but I have so much pride and satisfaction in still loving my bike and still loving the challenge and the empowerment of overcoming fear. When deciding to go for Tokyo after Rio, my goal was to love the journey, and if I made the Games, it was the cherry on top.   In this moment, I know I have truly achieved this goal because I can smile about the amazing journey (the experiences and the people) over the last five years and I still want to ride my bike! From a high being on the World Cup podium in Argentina with two of the greats (@lauraasmulders & @alisepost11), to lows of broken bones and injury, all of it created more memories that will stay with me forever. It is a privilege to compete at the Olympics and it is an honour to be one of the caretakers of our sport & country at the Olympic Games. In saying that, I am genuinely excited for Rebecca Petch to have the opportunity to represent NZ and BMX at her first Olympic Games - she is one of the hardest workers I know, a quiet little pocket rocket, and absolutely deserves to be there!   @rebeccapetch - Massive congrats and I look forward to seeing you perform your absolute best on the global stage! Smash it and enjoy it! BMX isn't who I am, it is what I do. I am still the same me, and I still love doing BMX. In my new dream, I will be handing out the Olympic medals to my competitors and friends in Tokyo next month!」6月17日 3時52分 - swbmx
