Have you ever wondered what the term “Goodyear-welted” means, when referring to shoes?

It means that the shoe is constructed in a certain way. The leather strap that runs around the shoe which is called welt gets sewn on to a cotton rib which is attached to the insole of the shoe. Later the sole gets sewn on to the welt. Like this alle the pieces are stitched together. Goodyear-welted is regarded as the highest quality for factory made shoes, as seen here by @septiemelargeur 😊
