With our studies of the Gullah Geechee, my children and I have been listening to an audiobook, Root Magic by @EdenRoycebooks
It’s a children’s historical fiction that brings Gullah Geechee culture to life in a captivating story.
When we listen, I encourage my children to imagine the surroundings as the reader narrates.
And I can’t help but get drawn in to the imagery of the rice fields and swaying palms as I listen.
So when i spotted this wallpaper, I knew I wanted it in our home in a big way.
When I walk into this nook in our kitchen, I’m instantly transported to the South Carolina island and reminded of the beauty and strength and welcoming nature of the Gullah Geechee.
