気候変動についての国際会議「Cop26」に合わせて始まるキャンペーンに参加することになりました。
常に自然や水と共に過ごしてきたアスリートとして、地球環境はとても身近な問題です。
地球の大半を占める水。その汚染は気候変動につながり、異常気象をもたらします。
日本でも洪水などで起こる水害や水難事故が後を絶ちません。
川や水の素晴らしさを知る一方、怖さもよく知っています。
激流となった水には誰も勝つことができません。
人間が牙をむいた自然と戦う事はできないのです。
地球に生きる我々は、その自然といかに戦わず生きていくかが今問われています。
それは我々が汚してしまった地球をできるだけ元通りにしていくことです。
自然に育ててもらったアスリートとして、出来ることから始めていきたいと思います。

I’m joining the global campaign in line with the international conference, COP26.
As an athlete who spends time in nature and water, the global environment is very familiar issue.
Water occupies most of the earth. It means water pollution impacts climate change, which brings extreme weather.
In Japan, water accidents that cause floods show no sign of significant decline.
Whilst knowing the best part of water, I also know the threat of it.
No one can fight against the raging stream.
We can’t fight against nature.
Now, we are being asked how to live without fighting with nature.
In other words, we should try our best to bring back the earth which we have polluted as much as possible.
As an athlete who was raised by the nature, I will take an action for our planet.
