“The art of Chris Anthony is unparalleled. His photos invite you to heavenly, dark worlds of seemingly impossible beauty, while blooming from almost exclusively impractical mediums. I’d become a collector of Chris’ shortly after our beloved lawyer Stacy (who has also gone unpaid for years of my own life counseling) turned me onto his work. The first time we met, I effulgently spoke, sending a droplet of spittle to his cheek. I was mortified. Reflexively, I reached out to wipe it off, caressing the kind face of the inspirational artist I’d known for seconds. I was profoundly mortified. Nevertheless, Chris forgave me. We became friends. He promised me the strawberry moon centerpiece of a mounted photo that hangs in my bedroom and, years later, agreed to shoot AFI in the season of Burials. We could not have asked for a better collaborator. These gorgeous photos perfectly capture the mood of one of my favorite #AFI records. Thank you, Chris, for sharing your beauty.
