I was a classic over-trainer, try-hard, do-more, skate through any pain, sacrifice whatever was needed, type of athlete. I thought that this was the key to success but although I found success this way, I was never able to truly own any of those moments…. Because I was always focused on trying to be everything. At the Olympics, thanks to 3 pivotal moments I experienced (and that I share about in a podcast episode that released today) I realized that true greatness meant competing AS myself. I learned to focus on purely myself and my needs and happiness. I learned to show up for myself as myself and TRUST that was enough (and wouldn’t ya know- I had my most fulfilling competition ever at the Olympics). And since sport, I’ve been on a journey to experience Greatness in my life again. I’ve had to learn how to redefine success so that it means something to me once again… so now, Greatness means, creating an authentic life- living unapologetically into my values- while helping others to do the same, and living the biggest and boldest life that I can for myself (and my family).
