The original Top Gun changed my life. It was fun, sexy, adventurous, romantic, visceral, and a love letter to real heroes in the sky who protect us every day. Even more, it was a big splashy Hollywood blockbuster that kept its intimacy in its epicness. It’s why we go to the movies & it inspired me to want to make movies for the rest of my life. We all went into this experience humbled by the shadow of Tony Scott and felt a great responsibility to do this film justice in his honor. I have to hand it to our director, Joe Kosinski, who came into this project knowing he had some big shoes to fill and I think based on the response...he filled them well. Tony would have been proud.
