( #bwcollaboration_week52 ) ______________________________________ #Kenilworth Castle, Warwickshire in the heart of #England has existed in one form or another since Norman times. The oldest surviving part dates from 1120. In the 1560's the castle was passed into the hands of Robert Dudley, a favourite of Queen Elizabeth I. He was rumoured to have arranged the death of his first wife (she died after falling down a flight of stairs) so that he would be able to marry The Virgin Queen. However the resulting scandal never died away and they never married.
