This is Vicki.
Her soul was like a warm, sunny day when the birds are singing, flowers are abloom, and the bees are buzzing about.

She guided me into motherhood, welcomed me with open arms and loved Easton deeply. I was lucky enough to have spent time with her going for walks on the same road she walked Ryan as a baby, going for drives to local markets, appointments or to the cottage, and sitting in our living rooms or on our porches as she told me her stories and passed along life lessons.

She wasn’t just like a mother to me through one of the most important transitions of my life; she also gave me an example of the type of maternal love and care I wish to embody and promised her I would carry forward to her grandbabies and always for her son. She taught me how to slow down, focus on what is important and be in tune with the nature surrounding our homes. Her company was like a comforting hug, her joy was infectious, and her strength was immeasurable as she fought a hard battle with cancer.

I’ll miss the sound of our sliding door opening as she pops her head in with a bright “hello! How’s our boy today?”. I’ll miss the baked goods, bird feed, flowers or books she would bring over ‘just because.’ I’ll miss texting her about what to have for Sunday dinner or each time Easton hits a new milestone, with her being equally as excited in return.

No words could ever do her spirit justice, and life won’t be the same without her, but I know a piece of everyone who loves her went with her into the night, and a giant piece of her love stayed here with us, keeping us all sunny and warm until we meet again ♥️
