I am working with exceptional Ukrainian designer @lever_couture who is taking “love letters” for Ukraine and sewing them by hand on a couture gown which will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to @zelenskafoundation. My letter was written as a poem which you can read below: My motherland cries tears of smoke and ashes Her men fight with the ingenuity of true belief So many hearts, so many women torn in pieces Of husbands, children, cats and curtains, blown out flats Windows, plates and tea cups, ethics and ideals bombarded by the sounds of missiles landing at the door The bodies of their men, forced to become hero’s Whether they wanted to or not Their scent, their touch, their familiar voices Whispering words of desperate comfort and of everlasting love Ripped away, maybe for now, maybe forever I love you… Whispered fiercely into a beloved ear I love you whispered fiercely into the wind As the gunfire and the blood drenches Everything and all I love you Ukraina.
