#世界遺産 「チチェンイッツァ」

マヤ文明最大規模の都市で、
マヤ語で「聖なる泉のほとりの魔術師」という意味だそうです。

一番有名なのは、
このピラミッド「エル・カスティーヨ」。
羽を持った蛇の姿をしたマヤの最高神
「ククルカン」を祀っていて
計算し尽くされた形状によって
なんと巨大カレンダーの意味をもっていたといいます。

他にも球技場の遺跡など、、、
見応えたくさん！！
まだまだ解明されていない謎が多くあるため、
#新世界七不思議 にも登録されているとのことです！

The World heritage site named “ Chechen Itza”

It’s the biggest town of Maya.

The meaning of the name in Mayan language is “at the mouth of the well of the Itza.”
"Itza" is “enchantment of the water”.

The main architecture is an enormous pyramid “El Castillo”, also as known as the Temple of Kukulcan.
It is dedicated to the “Kukulcan” that is the supreme Mayan god.
It is said that the pyramid was constructed to represent a calendar, hence its well- calculated structure.

“Chechen Itza” is listed as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, because there are so many mysteries still! And, there are several other wonderful architectures, so you must enjoy!!!
