The island is the uninhabited Nochigashima, and the buildings are the Dragon Palace. 🐉 It is said that the buildings, constructed in the 1950s to host tea events, resemble the Dragon Palace from Japanese folklore. Legend says that the palace is the underwater home of Ryujin, the dragon god. Somewhat reminiscent of Atlantis, the palace shows up in various Japanese folktales, most notably Urashima Taro, which tells the story of a fisherman who visits the palace on the back of a turtle. 🐢 Unfortunately, the island and its Dragon Palace on terra firma can no longer be explored.
