Monday満ちるさんのインスタグラム写真 - (Monday満ちるInstagram)「@japansociety in NYC is showing the first film I ever did, "Hikaru Onna" ("Luminous Woman") co-starring Japanese pro-wrestler Keiji Muto with English subtitles on May 5th & 13th as part of a series showing the director Shinji Somai's various works which helped to change the film culture and narrative back then. While I had no formal training to act (which was the preference of the director to work with amateurs in order to shape their expressions in a more authentic way), I ended up winning several Best Debut Actress awards including from the Japan Film Academy, and it afforded me many opportunities afterwards which eventually led the way towards my music career. I haven't seen it since it was made in 1987 so it'll be interesting (or more likely embarrassingly mortifying!) to check it out after so many decades.
