Remember sitting down in Nashville nearly 10 years ago to record this part for chaos and the calm. I wrote it a year or so before that. When we finished it it didn’t have a middle 8. I flew to LA for the first time and it bugged me that whole trip that there wasn’t any kind of middle section. When I got back to London I went back to the studio and on the tube ride there I still had nothing so I wrote a whole middle 8 section in my head, remembered it and recorded it as soon as I walked in the room. It stuck and I still sing it live today.
