Today was extremely emotional. The minute I walked up to the capitol building I started to cry. So many of us were crying. We can’t live like this anymore and we all know it. We don’t just want change, we need change, our lives depend on it. For many years, I was one of those people who was scared to go to something like this, I was scared to post anything for fear of hate and ridicule but I’m done being silent. I had so many conversations today with conservatives, democrats, republicans and it’s unanimous, something has to be done. We all want to send our children to school and know they will come home. We know that buying bulletproof backpacks and shoelace free shoes, so our children don’t fall when they are running from a shooter, is NOT NORMAL! I’m begging for you to not stay silent. I’m begging you to try and figure out a way to move forward together. I’m begging if you have a social media platform to open up the conversation with your followers. This have never been an argument about legally owning a gun as a law abiding citizen. That’s never been the issue at hand. Sensible and reasonable regulations that make sense. For all of us!!!
