The last few months have felt kind of messy, and getting outside to climb with @nikolaimilburn in the freezing winds has been an oddly relaxing way to tap out from the noise and just do what I know how to do. I love trying hard, and this route most definitely ticked that box. Especially when I had to ad lib the final clip when the method I had practiced didn’t work out on the go 🤪 Slice of Time (5.14b) 🍕⏰ This route is the result of the combined visions and efforts of Christian Griffith (original first pitch), Chris Hill (equipped extension), Matt Reeser (direct start to original pitch + updated hardware), and Mark and Mike Anderson who FA’d the extension in 2019, making it one 40m pitch. For the record, I used a long sling to protect a ginormous runout in the first 12d pitch, thus conceding the glory and honor of the R rating. This climbing day made possible by my lucky belayer @arjandekock, who always swoops in for my sends; my mom @arclaassen who hung out with Larkin; and @lasportivana, @physivantage, and @maximropes.
