It follows conservationists Kristine and Doug Tompkins on an epic, decades-spanning love story as wild as the landscapes they dedicated their lives to protecting. Along with Rick Ridgeway and Yvon Chouinard, this tight-knit group—the original dirtbag climbers, skiers, and surfers—defined a way of life and the ethos for the outdoor adventure and climbing worlds. "Wild Life" explores the power of love and lifelong friendships forged in the mountains along with finding meaning and how we choose what to hold dear. Here are some of the landscapes contained in the 15 million acres (6 million ha) Tompkins Conservation has helped protect and preserve. The efforts of Doug and Kris have culminated in the biggest private land donation in history. They created or expanded 17 national parks in their 25 years of conservation work. Their rewilding efforts, now continued by Rewilding Argentina and Rewilding Chile, are aimed at reintroducing threatened species into these incredible landscapes.
