And now I must tell you about the time that I actually saw Mr. Darcy in person. A few months ago, @krystal_bick (who inspired me to try this trend with her own cinematic video that you must see) and I were wrapping up a shoot at a beautiful hotel in the city. We were holding suitcases and garment bags and all manner of ludicrously capacious totes.

Our elevator door dinged open and there he was; Fitzwilliam Darcy, Mr. Tom Wambsgans, Matthew Macfadyen standing there waiting to get on the elevator. He made eye contact with both of us and I’m certain he knew that we are 100% his target audience and would recognize him in any corner of the world. There was a quick nod and we bustled past with our armloads of bags, headed outside, and burst into half finished sentences that mostly consisted of “oh my god oh my god, it was him”.

I’m not normally one to be starstruck but it was one of those New York moments that I wouldn’t change for anything. Except maybe to be carrying less bags at the time.
