I was lucky enough to spend a couple weeks with Russell a few years ago. His words and life greatly influenced my work and lead to my TED talk on American POW camp #344 and the struggle over the sacred lands known as the Black Hills. Without Russell And his influence my cover story in the August issue of National Geographic (on the Oglala Lakota and their struggle for Treaty Rights) would never have ever come to be.
