One of the largest organized road races in the world, it was first established in 1985 by two former Canadian Olympians, and welcomes tens of thousands of runners each year from international elites to everyday athletes. From start to finish, the course is a raw snapshot of the city, capturing the energy of the downtown core to the ascent from Beach Ave to the apex of Burrard Bridge, and the vibrant Spring foliage that lines the streets.
